Kristie is an Assistant Professor in the Ivy College of Business (Department of Management & Entrepreneurship) at Iowa State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Management from the University of Arkansas as the Frank & Donna Oldham Graduate Fellow in 2023.
Her research is rooted in the principle that scholarship should be theoretically and practically meaningful to best serve individuals, organizations, and society.
At a broad level, Kristie’s research centers on the role of organizations in addressing pressing societal issues and ethics. Her main research investigates inclusive work, with a focus on social class in and around organizations. She is especially interested in the interpersonal interactions and organizational policies and processes that facilitate mobility. Kristie uses various methods to study these topics, including experimental techniques, network analysis, and field studies. She received the 2025 Southern Management Association (SMA) Ascendant Scholar Award.
Outside of work, you can find Kristie exploring Iowa’s gravel roads by bike or nearby lakes by paddleboard, on a porch with friends and her dog, Oli (namesake of Mary Oliver), or visiting her family, who span from the West Coast to the UK.
